Tropical Style with Personality
One of the highlights of the SallyO & Co Sourcing Adventures is discovering beautiful spaces that inspire me, and Sweet Surrender Villa in Seminyak is always a favourite stop on the adventures.
Owned and renovated by Melbourne-born, Singapore-based interior designer Faith Town, this four-bedroom villa is a wonderful blend of tropical, coastal and contemporary style. It has a relaxed island feel, but with an eclectic, refined edge that makes it anything but predictable.
I love the confident use of colour, the signature palm tree motifs, sculptural lighting, custom brass details and the mix of natural textures, including bamboo and rattan. Rather than relying on muted neutrals, the interiors are full of character, with unexpected colour combinations and thoughtful details at every turn.
The villa wraps around a lush tropical garden and private pool, with an open living and dining pavilion that flows effortlessly outdoors. There’s also a beautifully considered kitchen with an oversized island bench, and a cosy, moody media room that offers a lovely contrast to the bright, airy living spaces.
Faith generously invites my groups to visit whenever we're in Bali. Although she isn't there in person, we're always warmly welcomed by the villa manager Rah, who shows us around.
For me, Sweet Surrender is a wonderful reminder that great interiors are about more than following trends. It's about personality, texture, colour and creating spaces that feel individual and inviting.
